Overview
Over three decades now, DR Congo has been merged into unstoppable wars causing approximately 10 million deaths, many women rapt, enrolment of children in army groups, and viability of refugees in neighboring countries. In the recent clash of the M23 rebel groups in North-Kivu province in DR Congo, we started the Reliance Soul Youth Initiative to empower marginalized communities, especially young refugees, young mothers, and internally displaced persons (IDPs), through arts, vocational training, and charity activities. As conflict affects youth, we recognize the effect of war on individuals causing severe trauma, poverty, and psychosocial disorder. We use art (music, handcraft, body movement, and image) as a healing process to foster social cohesion and inclusion. We aim to achieve self-reliance and sustainability through the Reliance Creative Center, which offers a platform for young people to improve artistic talents, vocational skills, self-discovery, and psychological healing.
OUR VISION
Reach, Touch, and Change marginalized souls for freedom and self-resilience.
The deep meaning of our vision is to reach the most disadvantaged societies such as refugees and displaced communities, emphasizing a message of hope and creating programs that lead young people to discover their full potential and the courage to commit to the betterment of future generations. As refugees we aspire to overcome the impact of conflict, ensuring justice prevails, and equipping individuals with the skills and resources for a life of abundance and self-sustainability
Our Mission
We believe in empowering marginalized individuals generating transformative opportunities, nurturing resilience, and promoting African culture in creating pathways to freedom. Through our sustainable compassionate and charity initiatives we strive to reach, touch, and positively change the lives of young people facing difficulties, unlocking their full potential and enabling them to embrace self-resilience.
